I've just nearly finished reading this book Bad Science and I think it's brilliant.

I share the reference here because it's all about questioning the information placed before us, and I know we're all into that to some degree (we're all breaking from the conventional paradigm by raw feeding).

Only problem is that I can't quite make my mind up whether this book supports us raw feeders are people who look deeper at the information or whether he'd think we're nuts. Either way, having ...

I had a thing going on Sunday where I would pick a story detailing someone's raw feeding journey and post it on my blog. However, I ran out of entries so I'm asking any of you that would like to email me your story and a picture or two of your pet(s) to please send them to newbeginnings06@gmail.com

Things you can discuss are (of course, everything is optional- you do what you want)

Why you started raw feeding?

What you feed?

My nine month old ex-feral kitten, Spencer, escaped two nights ago. I saw him briefly yesterday morning, but no one's seen or heard him since. Although he's very fond of me and sleeps on my pillow every night, he remains extremely skittish and startles at the slightest sound. He's way too scared to come to me outside, or even to allow me to approach him, so I've set up a Hav-a-Heart trap, but nothing so far. With everyone in the neighborhood mowing yesterday (the first sunny day we've had in ...

Betty is a show dog, and her lines are excellent. Because of that, her other mommy (co-owner) wants a litter. So, she had her date a few weekends ago, and is now looking to be an expectant mommy!

About 1 1/2-2 weeks from her due date, she will go back to the breeders house for the birth.. I so would not handle that well. And a week after the babies are born, she will come back here with me.

SOOO, this will be her pregnancy/baby thread! I will have weekly pics of her body until she ...

Took the dogs out, a few metres from my house I spotted what I thought was a mouse that a cat had played with and was dead. Upon closer inspection by myself and the dogs, it was still alive. Now I know the kind of play cats do with small mammals, so I know that even when they leave them alive they usually die a slow and painful death. So I put it out of its pain. And as I walked away I thought "what if it would have recovered and scuttled off later on?". And I've felt bad since.

She was starting to seizure Sunday about 4pm and every 4 hours at first, then 2, and then the last few were only an hour apart. She had a very bad one at the hospital in the exam room. The vet was 99.9% sure she had distemper as all symptoms matched.

I seen a part of Dirty Jobs tonight (do you have that in Canada?) and the host had on a rendering plant that takes all kinds of animals and rotting parts and makes it into meat and bone meal. He said it's fed to chickens and turkeys but then said really it's fed to whatever depending who buys it. The whole animal is ground up- fecal matter and all and then cooked down. The grease is then skimmed off the top and used as "yellow grease" and then I suppose it's dried. The whole process ...

I just rescued a dog.

An obese, 8 year old, intact chi X girlie. She gets along with my chi, and the cats. No barking yet, is house trained.

This girl is TERRIFIED. She doesn't want to leave the kennel we set up for her, she is sad and alone in the world.

Her old owner passed, and she was left in a garage.

Pics later tonight.
