    Auntie Crazy's Crew

Post  Auntie Crazy on Mon Feb 16, 2009 12:31 am

Hi, all! I am the proud meowmy to five rescued ex-feral cats, 2.5 year old siblings Allen, Rachel and Meghan, and 4.5 month-old siblings Spencer and Heather.

Like so many others, I was hit by the pet food poisoning of 2007. We were able to save Allen and the two girls, for which I will remain eternally grateful, but I lost their brother, Oliver. Since then, I have been obsessed with all things cat food related.

I've known for some time that a raw diet was the healthiest and most natural for my furbabies, and I'm happy to say I've been feeding it for a bit over two weeks now. They are totally LOVING IT!

    Allen, my heartkitty.

Welcome to the new forum! Again, I'm so sorry about the cat you lost to the poisoning, that had to have been devastating. I'm glad that raw has been going so well for your crew and commend you for doing the best for your cats' health. All your kitties are absolutely gorgeous! hope to see more pictures of them around.

Hi, Heather! I'm delighted to see you here, too!

Thanks for the compliments and the condolences, everyone. I know it's been two years since Ollie passed away, but his death, and thousand of others', was caused by greed and if we all stop talking about it, if I stop talking about him, it would just be wrong. We shouldn't ever forget what happened in 2007.

Now that I've thoroughly depressed myself, here, by popular demand, are more pics to lighten the mood Very Happy :

Your cats are gorgeous!!! I especially love Meghan as I had a calico growing up with the same type of markings. Soft spot for the pretty kitty <3 <3

AC, your cats are gorgeous! My kitty got really sick with the tainted pet food, his kidneys got badly damaged, and so did his pancreas. He developed diabetes, and finally I had to put him down at 18. He survived the pet food problem but he would have had a little longer if he hadn't been made so sick with it, so I totally hear you on it.

When I was getting my puppy, I started doing a ton of research on raw, and NEVER want to feed kibble again, unless I have complete trust in the pet food company, which, in my mind is laughable. I still haven't gotten a new cat, but have never been without one since I was born, until now. It's just been hard, and I still haven't gotten over the loss, Sad even now. I just can't imagine life without a cat, I love my dog, but I'm still a cat person at heart. Just don't tell Charlotte.

(I'm going to have to go back to my other post and put up some pictures, but I only have old puppy ones, as my camera needs to be charged, and still haven't unpacked the charger since October!) my bad...

It might take some time, Timothea, but your heart will know when you are ready for another cat.

I was so broken up about Ollie that I had to take some time off from work. It was awful and I can't imagine how bad it would have been if I had not had the other cats to both worry about and bury my face in when the tears wouldn't stop.

I'm gonna do my best to see the PFI doesn't receive another cent of my money.
