I found a pretty decent deal on Rainbow Trout at Costco last night so I picked up a pack. They are completely whole in the package so I plan on feeding them that way. Is Rainbow Trout a good fish for the dogs?

Re: Rainbow Trout
I used to feed trout to my dog all the time! They are gutted, so not really whole, but they do have the heads still on which is good. Some dogs really hate fish so don't be disappointed if that happens. Mine likes his fish frozen so try it all different ways. I probably wouldn't thaw it when trying it on a new dog.. little too much with the funky texture, smell, the fact it has a head and scales..

Re: Rainbow Trout
I have it in the freezer right now and was planning on letting it stay there for about a week before feeding it to them. Should I cut the fins off or leave them on? I guess they aren't any more sharp than a bone going down. They love sardines so I am anticipating good response, but it wasn't expense if they don't like it.
