Welcome home Emily Jane! Empty Welcome home Emily Jane!

I decided to adopt another pup and she came home on the 19 of this month. She is like Brie is so many ways, but in so many ways she is also very different which I like (sometimes LOL). She was born April 24th the best we can guesstimate. Emily is a bluetick beagle and starting to really show her tan! In another 6 mos she'll look completely different. Emily was orphaned and abandoned at 3 weeks old and a rescuer took her in and nursed her back to health. Her saving grace was a lab mix, also abandoned but with her siblings, that was able to teach her the valuable social skills she lacked from being away from her own mom and siblings. She also got to play with and be around several other dogs and I am pretty shocked to say that she acts like a normal eight week old. She is friendly towards everyone and wags her tail like a fiend! I still have a lot of work and fine tuning to do as she is a bit rough around the edges from being at the rescue and being taught manners from a different mindset but she is coming along great having only been here for 3 days. She's eaten chicken and rabbit so far but we're still fighting mucus poops. At first there was LOTS of mucus and now there's some but they are looking normalish brown color and still like soft serve. A few shaped poops were thrown in the mix a time or two but it's still a work in progress. It's not diarrhea as she can hold it and hasn't had an accident in her crate. It's starting to resolve though. Anyway, onto pics!

She is heart-breakingly cute. Amos seems to be happy to have a little sister around again (am really happy for him). Hugs to them both.

Emily's very sweet, hope her and Amos get along well. So happy for you, it's great that you have a bit of Brie in her, bet she's had a paw in this too...

    WELCOME HOME EMILY!

Did you settle on that name for sure, then? (I know on RR you were considering a change)

She is gorgeous.. she looks like my first beagle ever, Chloe, who left us way too early. :'( I still miss her.

Any new pics of her beating up big brother Amos?

Yes, it's Emily Jane for sure but I don't ever use the full name. I either just call her Emily or Emmy. She is actually pretty feminine and petite which is what I think of when I hear the name but I also wanted to keep Jane, her name at the rescue, because I feel it's apart of her. I also think it stands for G.I. Jane because she is seriously a tough little girl! Amos and her actually play rougher than I like and I wasn't allowing it for several days but she was actually asking him for it so I let him and she is totally happy. I don't allow it to get out of control though and when she starts getting vocal and high pitched I stop it (that's her sign she's way too hyped up and needs to take a break). It helps that I work daycare and do this 12 hours a day for 3 days so I'm used to monitoring and controlling play and making sure everyone stays safe and arousal level doesn't spike and go south (as it often can with those large breed adolescent males so that's pretty much my entire work day!) Amos does lay down with her most of the time which is appropriate but then when she starts running around, wanting him to chase her, he'll knock her down alot and she takes a hard tumble but gets right back up and runs after him again. When Amos would try and do this with Brie she would run away and find me for protection. Not Emily though- she begs for it! On Saturday I invited some people over for a welcome home party and here's a pic of the cupcakes I did.

The PB one is one I made for her. And this is her eating it.
