Hello everyone,
I followed this link from dogsandchats (where I met most of the people there from Brad's website ... what a cycle of communities on the internet!)
My avatar is my cat London. Bit of background on London - he'll be 8 this October, and I will have had him for two years in November. He was not very well treated and came to me through my vet. His previous owner had left an ear infection untreated to the point where all the cartilage in his ear is damaged ... thus the crumpled ear. Poor thing! He also came to me declawed ... something I personally despise and would never subject a cat to, but was definately an asset when bringing home an adult cat into a household with two parrots! I've tried off and on to feed London the raw diet, and he simply won't do it. Very frustrating b/c my last two cats were both on the raw diet and did wonderfully on it. So, I'm hoping that I can get some tips from people here on how to convince my very stubborn kitty that raw is the way to go ... (and flies do NOT count as a raw meal!)
Abby is my 4.5 year shep/lab/hound mix. She's been on raw since a pup, and I've never had any issues with her and her diet. As most raw feeders already know ... those pearly whites and shiny coat at her age are usually enough to persuade anyone to switch their pet to raw!
My parrots - well, little Ellie, my quaker is a freaking holy terror. Cage bound for the first six months of her life and then brought into a rescue with a broken leg and broken wing, we are still on the road of recovery and trust building ... even though it's been 2 years ... lots of PRT with her, and hopefully soon she'll come around (my hands are pretty sore so I'm hoping the third year is the charm!
Echo is my wonderful African African Gray who is an absolute hoot. She calls Abby by name, calls her into the house when she's in the backyard, tells Abby to sit, lay down, etc. Quite amusing. She is most definitely the alpha of the household. What Echo wants, Echo gets!
