I had a thing going on Sunday where I would pick a story detailing someone's raw feeding journey and post it on my blog. However, I ran out of entries so I'm asking any of you that would like to email me your story and a picture or two of your pet(s) to please send them to newbeginnings06@gmail.com

Things you can discuss are (of course, everything is optional- you do what you want)
    Why you started raw feeding?
    What you feed?
Health issues of your pet(s) and are they improving?
    Obstacles your overcame?

    Thanks!!

Hi, Heather! My story is on here, if you want to use it, feel free. You might have to edit it a bit, though, as it's a detailed, almost daily, chronicle. Smile

I started feeding raw because two years ago, I lost Ollie and almost lost his brother, Allen and their two sisters, Rachel and Meghan, to the pet food poisoning of 2007. I became obsessed with what I was feeding my cats, and the more I learned about commercial foods, the more appalled I became. Eventually, I determined to give them the best diet I could, researched how to do it, and voila. I now have five extremely healthy, happy cats.

I feed turkey drumsticks, chicken quarters, beef and pork chunks, ground chicken wings, chicken ribs, and beef and chicken liver and kidney. Occasionally, I feed crickets and mice (live and not-so-much, respectively).

My biggest obstacle was and remains getting organs to feed. All I have been able to find on a consistent basis is beef and chicken liver and kidneys (mostly beef).

My cats were eating the highest-quality wet foods on the market prior to the natural diet; primarily grain-free, fish-free, 95% meat flavors. I thought they were as healthy as they could be, but the change in their energy levels was astonishing. Clearly, the wet foods either didn't contain everything they needed to be healthy and strong, or contained ingredients that were detrimental in some manner.

I have a ton of pics in my photobucket account: AuntieCrazy and I'll add some more recent photos over the weekend. Use whichever ones you like.

Heather, when things calm down over here I will try and get you something! Can I post this at the CatForum?
