Willie's upset tummy Empty Willie's upset tummy

About six days ago I gave Willie his first bone including meal that he ate, the next day I tried him on Venison, which he refused so I brought out some chicken, I wrapped a piece of chicken around a piece of venison the size of my thumb nail. A half hour later the chicken and that piece of venison was gone, no other venison was touched. The next night I gave him wet food instead, he had only ever had this brand of wet food once but did fine with it. This same night he pooped (in litter box) and then had diarrhea on my carpet. Next night he got another bone including meal which he ate a good amount of. Yesterday morning a few hours after breakfast (every day he gets kibble for breakfast still)he barfed up his kibble (no raw food in vomit, it was not digested, just wet). i did not tell my parents about the vomit, just the diarrhea (i was afraid that if i said he threw up they'd make me stop the raw).

My parents automatically blame the raw food, dad thinks it's because I'm changing his food around too much (which is possible, but he's been eating chicken for weeks now) and mom thinks raw food is dangerous (though she still let's me do it thankfully). Last night I offered a brand of wet food that he had never had and he did not eat any of it except a few kibbles that I tossed on the wet food to entice him. so far he's been fine today.

So what do you think is upsetting his tummy? I think it could be that I'm changing him around too much. It could be the venison but I only gave him a small piece. Bones worry me still, I need to get over that. He is still pooping though so I doubt any bone blockage or anything is causing this. He ate this morning so maybe he was just not feeling well and is all better now.

What do you think I should do for dinner tonight? Raw chicken, wet food or dry food?

I'd be willing to bet it is NOT the raw itself.. perhaps it was the venison, and it was just too rich for him right now (you say he is switching slowly, right?). It happens!

I would take kibble out completely, if it were me. Canned/raw only. Easier on his tummy.

I was thinking exactly the same thing - replace the dry altogether and go canned and raw. And maybe keep him on the easy meats for a while, like turkey, chicken, etc.

Also, maybe cut his meat down to bite-size pieces? My Rachel threw up after a beef dinner and I'm pretty sure, in retrospect, that it was because she didn't chew the pieces as long as she should have and they were too big and didn't sit well in her tummy.

Elliot just puked up his beef heart dinner, and we're sure it's because he ate too much. Rolling Eyes Also possible it was too rich, or that it was still slightly frozen. Laughing Either way, he is fine, everyone pukes a little at first.

When we were doing some kibble, very infrequently, and mostly raw, the day we fed kibble EVERYONE would have the worst stinky runs. affraid I bet you it was similar with your lil one.

unfortunately I can't stop the kibble yet. he does not eat enough of the raw or canned food (he does not really like canned food, he'll eat some though)to safely stop kibble, his weight would dramatically drop and he is a thin cat to begin with. He got kibble tonight though, I had to babysit and did not have time to make him raw or canned, I had to run out right after feeding, I had to leave before their normal dinner time and I didn't want to feed them too early but I did not want to leave Willie alone with the raw food, I like to watch and see what and how much he eats, plus leaving it out for hours would not be good. Everything has been fine today so we'll do raw again tomorrow and see what happens.

Thank you all for your suggestions, I'll keep you updated on how he does.
