Betty had a "date" and we think she is now expecting! **PREGNANCY THREAD**

Betty is a show dog, and her lines are excellent. Because of that, her other mommy (co-owner) wants a litter. So, she had her date a few weekends ago, and is now looking to be an expectant mommy!

About 1 1/2-2 weeks from her due date, she will go back to the breeders house for the birth.. I so would not handle that well. And a week after the babies are born, she will come back here with me.

SOOO, this will be her pregnancy/baby thread! I will have weekly pics of her body until she leaves, and then PUPPIES!

Betty had a few "dates", starting on the 9th of May, and a few days after that...

A week ago (May 18th, 2009):

Congrats! What are the Dad's lines like? Has she had health screenings for genetic defects that she could pass on?

I actually don't know a whole lot about him, I assume since I know Betty's other co-owner has her tested that the sire is too. I am just the "love house", she is the expert. I co-own Betty with her breeder, and once she retires, she will come live with us full time. I deal with love and cuddles, she gets to show and deal with the breeding aspects. I just get to socialize puppies.

Congrats Kelly and Betty! I don't think I would be able to only co-own a dog though and not have a say about certain aspects of their life. That'd drive me crazy! When does Betty retire? I guess it would be fun to have pups around but they always look so miserable waddling around with such a fat tummy. I can't wait to see Betty pups though. She is a gorgeous girl herself and I can't imagine the cuteness that awaits! When is she due?

Re: co-owning... it does suck that she leaves me sometimes, I miss her like crazy! But, the other owner and I have been friends for 5 or so years now, and treat our dogs very similarly. She raw feeds too!

I am not 100% certain when she is retiring, she is only 3yrs. They may want to show her and get her champion, and possibly have another litter at some point if this one goes well. Obviously, I would be happy if she retires after this litter! LOL

I know she will look soooo sad with her fat tummy. That's why she's going to the breeders before the birth, NOt something I could deal with!

She is stunning, isn't she? Her faults are that she walks "like a bull dog" and her topline isn't great. That's why Micah was chosen, he has a great walk and lovely top line.

She was bred for the first time on May 9th, so if she took then, 8-9weeks is gestation I think. Early July? Shell be leaving here the end of June, anyways, so they can deal with the birth.

She seems to be filling out downwards instead of side ways.. either way, I hope she stays healthy and happy. Man, it's going to be hard letting her go for 3 weeks.

Sorry guys! Had a wedding this weekend, so pictures will be a little late. I'll have to remember to take some tomorrow. Her belly is distended down about the same,maybe a little more... it's hard to tell because I'm around her all the time. Her ladybits are still swollen though, so that means good things!

Also, she is SUCH A BITCH NOW! Holy lord, she goes at FatDog whenever Fatty wants to play! I feel so bad.. she's finally thin enough to -move- and Betty is too bitchy to play with her.

My dad has a horse like that. He calls her BitchFace. LMAO! Maybe she needs some happy pills?

GAH! Sorry! I updated the other forums and just assumed I did it here too.

Betty is now svelte and trim. False pregnancy! We are going to get her teeth cleaned in the meantime, and try next heat. Mayhaps even going to an invitro specialist.
