    Goat, anyone? Empty Goat, anyone?

So we got some goat from the local grocery store, but it was stewing goat, so lots of bone. I had to cut the bone away and use just the meat, which wasted quite a bit! I'm thinking of going to some local asian markets/middle eat butchers and seeing if they can get me some goat without bone.

(Btw, the cats HATE goat.. Betty loves it!)

Amos and Wav LOVE goat! I'm going to be helping butcher some whethers at the end of March and in return for offering an extra pair of hands to the couple they are giving me all the organs, the heart, stomach and possibly the rib cages and a meaty leg or two? We haven't figured that all out yet. I'll be getting a share of some roosters and rabbits they are culling too. Goat would be too expensive for me to get any other way. If you buy it whole (which is skinned and gutted) you might be able to get it for $3-4/lb at a Middle East grocer. Otherwise the cheapest I've seen it was about $5-6/lb.

Wow, that is pricey. Hopefully I can find a butcher that does his own!
